Grogan Development Group
A one-founder software company in Kennewick, Washington, building Regent: open-source software that runs a small business’s books inside rules you set, starting with paying bills.
The company site is grogan.dev.
Zack founded Grogan Development Group and builds Regent: the kernel, the simulator, the independent reference books and the catalogue of faults. He works with AI coding agents, and the simulator checks their work against the independent books before any of it is trusted.
We build Regent the way Regent works. AI agents write code, the simulator scores it against independent books, and a person decides what goes in. These are simulation and code numbers, not customer results.

Most well-funded AP and ERP tools are cloud services for mid-sized companies, and they compete on how accurate their AI is. For a small business, the better question is what happens on the day the AI is wrong. Regent’s answer is a fixed set of rules that checks every change before it happens.
A phase starts only when the one before it passes its gate. Beyond the dates shown, we don’t promise dates.
- Now
Harden
Per-person sign-in, every serious security finding fixed, and a Regent computer with an off-site backup and a tested restore. Gate: the findings are fixed and the restore works.
- January 2027
A shadow month on our own books
Regent keeps GDG’s books alongside the current method. Gate: every bank line reconciled and the trial balance ties to the bank to the penny.
- February to April 2027
AP pilots with three businesses
Read-only first, beside QuickBooks or Xero. Gate: three businesses running in shadow.
- After that
Widen, one area at a time
Bank reconciliation and purchasing, then real filings after an accountant verifies the rules. Each only after the one before it holds up.
We will send the demo, the roadmap and a short written note. We do not publish forecasts.
Pay bills through QuickBooks or Xero?
Three businesses will run Regent read-only beside their books, February to April 2027.
